Training and Practice

CIDCM is committed to putting the findings of its research and analysis into practice.

Internationally, CIDCM staff engage directly with government officials, civil society, and other conflict managers in order to build capacity and strengthen peacebuilding and development efforts. Through its Africa Telematics Project, for instance, the Center has become a leader the field of ICT for development. Through its Partners in Conflict/Partners in Peacebuilding Project the Center works directly with stakeholders to transform conflict and create opportunities for sustainable development by using the tools of multi-track or citizen’s diplomacy.

Domestically, the ICONS Project works with leaders in the public, private and NGO sectors to improve skills in negotiation, conflict management, crisis leadership, and other key leadership skills. ICONS specializes in trainings that center on interactive role-play simulations designed to allow participants to practice crucial skill sets in a real-time environment.
