As a university-based center, CIDCM offers a broad range of options for undergraduate and graduate students to learn about conflict management, as well as its relationship to international development. The Center sponsors a highly selective undergraduate Minor in International Development and Conflict Management and, in conjunction with the Department of Government and Politics, will house a new doctorate program in Conflict Studies.

In addition to these formal programs, other educational initiatives include:

  • The ICONS Project offers Web-based simulation exercises on key international issues for use in university and high school classrooms.
  • The Partners in Conflict/Partners in Peacebuilding Project offers several innovative classes each year, highlighted by the Team Teaching Our Conflict course, which is co-taught by leading scholars from Israel and Palestine.
  • Center faculty, including Ernest Wilson, Paul Huth, and Soo Yeon Kim, offer courses on themes relevant to the Center’s mission. These include graduate and undergraduate courses on international relations, international negotiation, the politics of Africa, and peacebuilding and postconflict reconstruction.
