About CIDCM: Partnering with CIDCM

The Center offers a variety of opportunities to collaborate in the understanding and analysis of critical issues relating to conflict resolution and international development:

As an agency sponsor: CIDCM is included in several contracting vehicles that simplify the U.S. Government procurement process. These IQCs (Indefinite Quantity Contracts) allow federal agencies to secure CIDCM's services under the umbrella of an existing funding mechanism.

  • (USAID) Analytical Services II: As a subcontractor to ARD Inc., CIDCM provides core research and development services to USAID, particularly in the development of performance measures and of monitoring and evaluation systems, as well as civil society/institutional strengthening.
  • (USAID) Instability, Crisis and Recovery Programs (ICRP): As a subcontractor to ARD Inc., CIDCM helps USAID missions better understand the factors that drive violence and instability, assists in the design of conflict mitigation efforts for DCHA/CMM, and provides mediation and facilitation expertise.

As a visiting scholar: CIDCM hosts academics and policy experts who seek a collaborative environment and a university affiliation as they conduct research on relevant academic and policy questions with experts at the University of Maryland and in nearby Washington DC. For information on policies and fees, contact the CIDCM Coordinator at 301-314-7703 or alwise@umd.edu.

As a student: CIDCM's Minor in International Development and Conflict Management offers undergraduate students the opportunity to work with Center faculty to develop the theoretical and practical skills necessary to work in the field of development. In addition, CIDCM offers internships to students interested using their administrative and research skills in support of Center tasks and initiatives.
