The chapter is outlined on the experience of the Telework, Telecottage and Telecentre Association, the leading UK organisation supporting and promoting the idea of teleworking.

The basic idea is that one possible income stream for telecentres could be involving developing teleworked business services. Teleworking could be also a possibility for finding a job to telecentres’ users after they receive training at the telecentre without forcing them to move to richer areas.

The author provides three examples of telecentre offering teleworking possibilities: the KITE, Co. in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, which provides child care facilities to teleworkers; the Moorlands Telecottage in Leek, Staffordshire (UK), providing training for employees of local firms and teleworking job hunting;  and the East Clare Telecottage and Training Associates, in Scariff, Ireland.

The paper goes on describing the services that a teleworking telecentre should offer, which kinds of job can be done in a distance manner and some note on taxation and legislation.
