The article describes the community radio experience in Latin America and the The RadioNet project, which was proposed and implemented by AMARC and is supported by IDRC and wanted to bring the Internet to some thirty regional stations within 2001, opening up communication channels and facilitating the exchange of programs. The article discusses benefit of rural radios and telecentres according to the following development indicators: Literacy, Education and Skills; Health; Income and Economic Welfare; Choice, Democracy and Participation; Technology; Culture and Diversity.
