Kyle R. (2001) Models of Telecenters in Brazil, in Journal of Development Communication: Special Issue on Telecenters 12[2]

The chapter describes the two models of telecentres set up by Telecentros Brazil. The first model telecentres are located in community centres and offer basic IT courses and access to the Internet for a symbolic cost. Model two telecentres (not yet in place when the chapter was written), significantly bigger in infrastructure, offer also  the following programs: tele-agriculture, in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Reform; tele-business for small and medium enterprises; tele-culture, in association with TV Cultura; tele-education, supporting the TV Escola, a project co-ordinated by the Secretariat for Distance Education; tele-environment, in cooperation with IBM and World Wildlife Fund; tele-government; tele-health; and tele-sports.
